Post subject: Bright House and the NFL Network Post
Yeah so I sent an email to Bright House the other day telling them about how I'd like it if they'd add the NFL network to their channel line up. Here's the reply...

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

My name is Jose, an E-Care Customer Support Specialist for Bright House
Networks. I am here to assist you with your inquiry regarding NFL
Network.

We would like to thank you for taking the time to share with us your
programming interests. We are continually evaluating our channel lineup
options and do our best to provide the newest, best, and most diverse
array of programming to our customers. From time to time, we do make
changes. Opinions from our customers, such as your e-mail, are important
to us as we evaluate our options. Bright House Networks will continue to
work to provide you the latest programming and technology available.

At this time, we do not have an agreement to carry the NFL Network. We
would love to add the NFL Network to your channel lineup, and we are
still amidst negotiations, but we have to be sure that we are securing a
deal that is not only fair to us and the NFL Network, but, most
importantly, is fair to our customers. We would prefer to carry the
channel as a premium service that can be purchased by subscribers who
want it. The NFL Network says that we should add it to our lineup, thus
increasing the rates for all of our customers as a result. There are
many of our customers, including senior citizens on fixed incomes, that
would find a hike in their cable rate to be unjust, and, in some cases,
just too costly. As you can see, this would alienate a large segment of
our customers when a much simpler agreement can be reached. For this
reason, we will continue negotiating until this channel may be added in
such a way that will not exclude the customers who do not have an
interest in it.

In the meantime, you don?t have to worry about missing any Bucs games or
playoff games. We will have all of them ? just like last season! All
Bucs games will be available on Bright House Networks through other NFL
partner networks. Fifty-three of the Regular Season games will be
nationally televised by these other NFL partner networks. Out of 256
regular season games, only eight of the nationally televised games will
be exclusive to the NFL Network. In addition, all sixteen of the
Buccaneer regular season games will be shown on Fox, NBC, or CBS, and
all games shown by CBS, ESPN, Fox, or NBC in High Definition will be
carried by Bright House Networks.

Thank you very much for taking the time to share your interests.

Jose

Just thought I'd share.

I don't like NFL Network for the games. I like the news and all of the other features. I hate ESPN because it covers ALL sports... and I only give a shit about the NFL.
